The Director of Enrollment Management & Alumni Relations serves as a key leader within the administrative team, responsible for the strategic growth and long-term sustainability of the School through enrollment management, admissions, recruitment, retention, alumni engagement, community outreach, and enrollment-focused events. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role that combines strategic planning with day-to-day execution. The Director develops long-term enrollment strategies, analyzes market trends and enrollment data, builds community partnerships, and leads recruitment initiatives while also actively engaging with prospective families, coordinating admissions events, managing outreach activities, and creating exceptional experiences that convert interest into enrollment. The Director oversees the complete family journey - from the first inquiry through enrollment, onboarding, retention, graduation, and alumni engagement. Working closely with the Head of Administration, Head of School, and Director of Communications & Advancement, the Director ensures that enrollment strategies, marketing initiatives, community outreach, and family engagement efforts work together to support sustainable enrollment growth.

Enrollment Strategy

  • Develop and implement the School's comprehensive enrollment strategy
  • Establish annual enrollment, retention, and recruitment goals.
  • Analyze enrollment trends, demographic shifts, competitor activity, and market opportunities.
  • Develop annual enrollment forecasts and capacity planning recommendations.
  • Prepare enrollment reports, dashboards, and presentations for Leadership and the Board.
  • Lead continuous improvement of admissions policies, procedures, and customer service standards.

Admissions & Enrollment Operations

  • Oversee the admissions process from inquiry through enrollment and onboarding.
  • Ensure timely, personalized communication with prospective families.
  • Guide families through the admissions process and serve as a trusted advisor.
  • Coordinate interviews, tours, classroom visits, placement assessments, and admissions decisions.
  • Manage enrollment contracts and re-enrollment processes.
  • Collaborate with academic leadership on admissions decisions and student placement.
  • Oversee enrollment systems, applicant records, and admissions documentation.
  • Ensure an exceptional experience for every prospective family.
  • Serve on Financial Aid Committee

Enrollment Marketing

  • Collaborate with the Director of Communications & Advancement to develop and execute enrollment marketing strategies.
  • Identify target audiences and recommend recruitment priorities.
  • Develop annual recruitment and yield plans.
  • Monitor inquiry, application, tour, and enrollment conversion rates.
  • Evaluate marketing effectiveness and recommend adjustments based on enrollment data.
  • Ensure admissions messaging accurately reflects the School's mission, programs, and value proposition.
  • Coordinate enrollment-focused content, testimonials, and success stories.
  • Work closely with Communications to align campaigns with enrollment priorities.

Community Outreach & Enrollment Events

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive annual recruitment and outreach calendar.
  • Plan and lead Open Houses, Information Sessions, Campus Tours, Preview Days, Welcome Events, and other enrollment-focused events.
  • Represent the School at community events, educational fairs, employer events, relocation fairs, and networking opportunities.
  • Build partnerships with relocation companies, employers, and feeder schools.
  • Identify new outreach opportunities that increase visibility and generate prospective families.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment events and continuously improve programming.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure outstanding event execution.

Family Experience, Retention & Community Engagement

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student retention and family satisfaction.
  • Coordinate school-wide enrollment and satisfaction surveys in collaboration with the Head of Administration.
  • Analyze survey results and recommend improvements.
  • Monitor retention trends and identify families who may need additional support.
  • Coordinate new family onboarding and transition activities.
  • Oversee the School's Welcome Team.
  • Recruit, train, and coordinate parent ambassadors, student ambassadors, and volunteers.
  • Partner with the Parent Council and school leadership to strengthen community engagement.
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze reasons for attrition.

Alumni Relations

  • Develop and implement a strategy to transform GISB's alumni program into a connected global network of alumni, former families, former staff, and friends of GISB.
  • Build and maintain an accurate alumni database and develop systems that strengthen lifelong engagement with the School.
  • Develop regular alumni communications, including newsletters and other engagement initiatives, in collaboration with the Director of Communications & Advancement.
  • Organize alumni events and networking opportunities, both locally and virtually, and collaborate with other German international schools in North America on regional alumni initiatives where appropriate.
  • Partner with the College Counselor to maintain connections with graduates, track alumni pathways and achievements, and strengthen relationships with alumni throughout their academic and professional journeys.
  • Encourage alumni participation in the life of the School through mentoring, guest speaking, networking, student engagement, volunteer opportunities, and recruitment support.
  • Foster a strong sense of belonging and lifelong connection by keeping alumni informed, engaged, and involved in the GISB community.
  • Celebrate alumni achievements and share their stories within the GISB community to inspire current students, strengthen school pride, and reinforce lifelong connections to the School.

Enrollment Data, Analytics & Systems

  • Oversee the School's admissions CRM and enrollment management systems.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of enrollment data.
  • Develop dashboards and key performance indicators.
  • Monitor inquiry, application, acceptance, enrollment, retention, and attrition trends.
  • Analyze enrollment funnel performance and recommend improvements.
  • Prepare reports for Leadership, Finance, and the Board.
  • Support enrollment forecasting and strategic planning through data analysis.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Supervise and coach the Admissions & International Student Program Manager.
  • Lead cross-functional enrollment initiatives across the School.
  • Build a culture of outstanding customer service and relationship management.
  • Represent the School professionally within the Greater Boston community.
  • Perform other duties that support the School's mission and strategic priorities.

Anforderungsprofil

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in enrollment management, admissions, recruitment, or a related leadership role within an independent school, college, university, or other educational organization.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the U.S. independent school or higher education admissions landscape, including enrollment management, recruitment strategies, and the competitive educational marketplace.
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic enrollment, recruitment, and retention initiatives that support sustainable enrollment growth.
  • Demonstrated success building relationships with prospective families, students, alumni, community organizations, and external partners.
  • Experience planning and leading admissions events, open houses, information sessions, community outreach initiatives, and recruitment activities.
  • Experience supervising admissions operations, enrollment processes, and customer service throughout the family enrollment journey.
  • Ability to analyze enrollment data, market trends, and key performance indicators to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Experience managing CRM or admissions systems and using data to improve enrollment outcomes.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to represent the School professionally in the community.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead both strategically and operationally, balancing long-term planning with hands-on execution.
  • Strong technology skills, including experience with content management systems, email communication platforms, design software, and digital collaboration tools.
