The job holder represents the Management Board in all questions concerning their management and duties. At the same time, he/she is in charge of the daily finance school operations and assumes a liaising role between all Stakeholders and the Management Board. He/she supports all Board Members, gives advice for decision making, elaborates possible solutions, and their consequences.


A. Finance:

  • Ensuring proper financial management and accounting related to the Foundation's funds as well as state funding.
  • Preparation and coordination of the budgeting until approval/adoption.
  • Management of the Foundation’s funds (Cash Flows) including cash flows forecast.
  • Controlling functions such as: Elaboration of the monthly financial reports for the Management Board (esp. Cash Flows), Budget Control, annual closure of audited financial statements in coordination with an external auditor.
  • Within the scope of the budget decided by the Board for the respective school year, the job holder will have an authority approval limit of requests up to an amount of IDR 150 million (Euro 10,000.00). He is in charge of reviewing such requests on behalf of the Board. For amounts exceeding the approval limit, the job holder will be in charge of seeking the proper approval authority within the Board Members.
  • The job holder is expected to be the voice for any related financial presentations, including the Annual Parents Meeting, to Stakeholders and Board Members, or as deemed necessary.

B. Administrative:

  • Preparation of Board resolutions and their implementation.
  • Agenda preparation for Board Meetings and sending out invitations for such meetings.
  • Preparing presentations for the Board meetings.
  • Documentation of Board Minutes and distribution of it in a timely fashion.
  • Archiving of all relevant Board-related documents.
  • Coordination of external resources (e.g. consultants).
  • Representation of DSJ’s interests in cooperation with other international schools or governmental bodies.
  • Pro-active advice in HR-management matters for the Board Members.
  • When a new Board is constituted, the job holder is expected to guide new members and expected to brief
    them on any outstanding issues.
  • Any other ad-hoc project deemed necessary by the Board Members.

C. Legal:

  • Coordination of necessary measures to sustain the legal basis for the foundation in the context of the requirements from both the framework of Indonesian and Germany laws & regulations.

  • Highly proficient knowledge of German, English, Indonesian, both spoken and written.
  • Education in Economics / Business Administration (Bachelor‘s degree or equivalent).
  • In-depth knowledge of business, economic contexts, elaboration of budgets, and their control.
  • Management skills experience, excellent social skills, experience in coaching, and qualification of local
  • employees, preferably in Finance and Administration.
  • Experience in organization development and project management.
  • Experience in dealing with Indonesian authorities and corresponding negotiation skills.
  • Experience in HR Management (remuneration and fringe benefits, elaboration of contracts, and personnel development).
  • Independent working methods, resilience, confidentiality, and willingness to adapt working with a Board of volunteers (especially: working hours, reporting obligations, competencies, and the ability to coach volunteering Board members.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.
  • Experience with database programs is an advantage.
